Just looked at my dealer's web site..... They have lots of '24 touring bikes in stock. They even have half a dozen new, unsold 2023 Street and Road Glides.
There are two Maryland HD dealers north of Baltimore. I was in the one closest to 695 that usually has prep/assy fees. They had a sign on a number of leftover 2024's that said no such fees on them. Normally, their Royal Enfield's are in another building, but, today, there were a number in the HD showroom. (Not sure if they were used or new.) (The other dealer, near Conowingo Dam, doesn't play such games.) I was in there only to renew my HOG chapter membership.
I got my lightly-used 2020 RGS from Chesapeake HD in January 2023. They were pushing hard to sell me a new 2022 instead, to clear the floor for the '23s.
Lot of 2024 SG's left. Used market is flooded with them. There are left over RG's but not as many. As number of dealers drop more and more bikes piling up in fewer dealers.
Right time right place you can make a deal on a 2024. But wait until after Jan 23rd.
Make a no trade deal it will go even better for you.
I've stopped in four different dealerships since just before Christmas and I notice the following:
1) There are more new bikes on the floor than I have ever seen before since buying my first HD in 2008. Inventories are HUGE!
2) There are no customers in these dealerships. I am not hearing the bells ringing.
3) Two salespeople I know where at two different dealerships tell me they have NEVER seen it this slow.
4) One dealership had 14 CVO's on the floor side by side by side. I remember when you could not find a CVO six months into the model year.
The following is just my opinion the price jump on 25's is designed .
1) They know they'll grab the deep pockets buyers that have to have the newest, latest, greatest and will pay whatever.
2) More so they will make the huge selection of 2024 models way more attractive with less discounts to both help dealers move them and keep margins high.
I have never been happier to have purchased my pre 2024's in the colors I like. I would love for HD to offer something that really excites me but they seem to be doubling down on what I do not like.
Nothing that will impact you buying a new SG or RG. They are both carryover models this year with basically only color changes and a $1750.00 price increase. They were introduced in early Jan. (See HD Build & Price.com). Id snap up a heavily discounted 24 while you still can!
Jan 23rd will be HDs intro of the all new models
