Default USB Cable Routing

I like to put my phone on the handlebars but still be able to charge it. On my Ultra Limited I was able to route the USB cable through a small hole in the inner fairing and up the handlebar. Has anyone figured out a way to do the same with the new Street Glide/Ultra? I don't necessarily need to plug into the USB port in the tray since I have the adapter for Carplay, but I would like to at least get power to it.

You can plug into the USB and run it to your phone and then close the drawer. That's what I've been doing for 6k miles. The best place to run the wire out of the drawer is at the front corner of the drawer.

Why not just add a fuse protected power port in the fairing with 2 USB ports so you can add a camera or whatever device you want to later on?

I'll probably do exactly this. After I made my post I took my bike back up to the dealer to have the handlebars adjusted. Turns out there's a lower panel you can remove from the rider's side to gain some access, so I should be able to route something through there. I want something more permanent than just closing the cable into the tray. Thanks for the tip.

You don’t even have to do that. Just remove the drawer (pull it straight out then lift up). Once you do that you have access run whatever cable you want, and you have access to the two lower bolts on the handlebar clamp. You can then loosen those adjust your bars, then torque the bolts back down (I THINK they are 40 ft lbs).

If you do want to remove the panel, you just pop the bezel off around the key, then there’s two Philips screws. Pretty sure that’s all it takes to get the panel off.
