Does anyone run their extension cable to their dash compartment? I'm installing my new HU and system today and I'd like to run the extension from the rear of the HU to my compartment on my Road Glide. Is there an adapter or something that you guys know about or should I just drill a hole and slide the cable through and call it a day?

I bought the Jenaux that is suppose to install in the cig lighter hole, but it is quite a bit larger than the cig lighter. I am just going to get a USB extension cord, probably three feet long and put it in one of the fairing compartments on my RG. That would be the least amount of impact to the fairing.
I bought a PAC USB extension cable, (Crutchfield, Best Buy). Then I drilled a hole where the black Aux. buttons are near the Ignition **** or some guy's run it back to thier saddle bag. The cable is 6 ft long. Just like having a plug in on the face of your HU. Snaps right in the hole or if you don't want to drill a hole has a surface mount stick on.

I'm going to check this out at BestBuy today, the SKU is: 3440396
Check out the 3BR line at J&P Cycles! This little deal sounds like what you're looking for, will plug into a USB plug, and is only $10. You could swap it for your cigarette lighter if you don't want to put another hole in your fairing...

I think that is just a water proofing kit, in other words, you get the rubber cap that covers whatever is plugged into the cig lighter and the rubber cover that goes over the USB to make it a complete seal. Apparently the part that looks like a cig lighter and was a USB port is no longer offered.
Those both look good and would work. I went with what I bought because it was available locally and I had the outer fairing off and wanted to get'r'done. It worked fine, 3/4" hole and filed a small notch for the index, pushed it in and plugged it in, zip tied extra cord out of the way and done.
