Are the SE Ohlins compatible with the OEM 100 mm calipers?

They are the same caliper, different brembo colors but all the same.

I have the Ohlins installed on the front and the back. This system really works well at higher speeds. Impressive handling. Expensive, but worth it.cccccbkbubgieeucngrieckntdrfedrgfvndglvldbdb

Linear springs instead of progressive springs. New valve shim pack to work in conjunction with the linear springs. As a solo rider, I could never get the shocks to my satisfaction and I've been experimenting for a year and 20,000kms. Kept a spreadsheet of all my settings and how the bike felt. My biggest beef is once you got into the firm section of the progressive springs it was too firm for my 230lbs with a 10lb tool roll in the saddlebag. With a passenger it was perfect.

I considered having a shop redo the valve shim pack and put on linear springs, but elected to go with new shocks from Pro Action, built to my specifications

Just curious, you are talking about the Screamin Eagle rear shocks? Do you remember what the preload was in mm when you were feeling that added progression?

Thanks, Rob

Yes the SE Ohlins

Preload presently set at 14mm
compression is 16 clicks
rebound is 12 clicks

These settings give me the best solo ride

Too little preload you’ll bottom out. Set correctly you’ll know when you’re into the firmer section as it pushes you up on the bumps. On a good bump you’ll be kicked up

Spring rates were different on the early SE Ohlins version. All current ones are exactly the same as the Ohlins 779. When I called Ohlins for help, they had me get the numbers off the SE Ohlins which confirmed they were in fact new stock and not SE old stock. Setting the "Sag" spring compression is different on the new SE Ohlins/Ohlins 779. Much easier. I have additional details at my office and will share. Also good to have some kind of caliper for measuring.

A cheap caliper tool like this is great.

I did the same upgrade on my 24 SG and agree that it was really worth the $$. The brakes are amazing now for such a heavy bike! Still working with the front adjustment to get better compliance over sharp bumps like freeway heaves. With the SG front end adjustment is a pain, unfortunately. Ride on!

Thanks! I am loving it so far! The saddlebag speakers are a great addition to the Stage 2 or 3 fairing speakers. The install is pretty easy except for the wiring harness...
