The new heated grips work very well- almost too hot at times. Nice for arthritic hands.

Yes getting a good deal like cash back, Stage 3 Fosgate stereo, with 2 more speakers in the saddlebags instead of on the tourpak all included in the deal. Which I like better.

We ride 2 up all the time, like 99 percent.
Main thing is being able to find a good cam tuned with a TTS tuner, no SE stuff. I haven’t looked at the 117 ci at all, so I’m not up on them , didn’t think I’d ever get one. I’m kinda glad it’s not a VVT, less to worry about.

Already have a Road Dawg trailer I want to pull. Glad to hear the suspension is improved. Gotta be leaps and bounds over a Trike.

Missed leaning in the corners, been riding about 64 years.
Has anyone dyno’ed a stock bike to see if they actually get those claimed numbers?
Thanks for all the good ideas and comments.

Might trade bikes later this week. Hoping for warmer weather! Lol
Mike
Several dealers around Kansas and Topeka HD installs and tunes with TTS. Ask for Eddie in service, if your interested.

This is my 25 117 RG, all stock, 4th gear

Adding the CVO ST air cleaner (blue run) really helps.
Never been great at reading these charts so forgive the possibly stupid question: Running in Tour mode would obviously result in different curves, but would the peak HP/TQ values be more or less the same?

The first one is showing two identical runs to demonstrate repeatability? If that's bone-stock I'm pretty impressed.

I am not familiar with how the ride modes are facilitated on the touring line but on the Pan America the engine power is remapped because the engine has variable valve timing. Since the touring line has fixed cam timing, I would guess that the same power and torque is created equally in each ride mode. The differences would then be in the ramp rate of the throttle and the effectiveness of the ride nannies like traction control and ABS. I am just theorizing though.

Sport mode produces the max power as the bike are factory programmed. Depending on model and year they will vary but in general Sport Mode = High, Road Mode = Med., Rain Mode = Low

MikeRG3 - Sorry to hear about your better half. Your right about the rough ride on the trikes. Mine rides like a lumber wagon but it won't fall over so I'm not worried about my balance like I was on two wheels. I miss the leaning part of riding on 2 wheels. That's the best part of 2 wheels. Riding a trike is just a different kinda riding fun but at least your knees are still in the breeze. I don't see a convertible sports car even being close.
I've done a demo ride on the new center cooler bikes and they seem to run very good. Sounds like your getting a sweet deal so enjoy your new ride and remember it suxs getting old but it's better than the alternative.

Yes rocksandgiz I understand completely, anything to stay in the wind. We love to ride, couldn’t really imagine not riding something!

Test drove the SGU today, momma actually loved the ride. The new suspension is really good stuff. I thought the 117 was quite snappy and considerably more grunt than the 114.

I kept asking for stuff and they kept giving.
Got a 2 into 1 Reinhart pipes thrown in and a second Fob. Also got them to throw in a free tuner since I pointed out the Trike has a new SE Tuner and would help them sell the Trike.

They also will credit my last oil change service from the Trike to the SGU, and we bought a VIP service package for the SGU at a big discount. So we made the deal and signed the papers.
I realize the Trike was worth more than the SGU, but the SGU is the bike we want and it’s free and clear, we owe nothing, and we already will have the upgrades when the parts get here.

The SGU sits low and has a low center of gravity making it much easier on my back to hold us up.

All the above charts look awesome for a stock bike, really appreciate the help and ideas.
We’re ready to ride, got a road trip planned Thursday lol Now to learn all these buttons and the new system.
Mike

Love it! Congrats, MikeRG3. You can become MikeSGU now. Black & chrome is classic. I’m biased though, that’s the combo that I went with also. The subtle grey pinstripe really looks good to me. Anxious to hear your ride report after/during the trip

Congrats Mike, glad you got the deal done.

When I got my 23 Ultra last year (old stock) I wanted to upgrade the cam but also wanted to keep my warranty. The SE torque cam fit my needs pretty good. I know aftermarket cams can make more power, but my bike has the cruise control set most of the time so I'm glad I still have the warranty. Just something to think about.
