idk if I am being paranoid, but all this talk about the inability to jump start these bike has me worried about taking overnight trips without a way to charge the battery. I have an old multi-chemistry charger that I used when I flew RC airplanes that can accept DC voltage input to 28V and can charge a 12v lead-acid battery at 10a, so I may have to make some room in my bags for that and a 6s LIPO. I should be able to run 5-7a through my tender pigtail for 20-30 minutes to hopefully get enough juice to crank it over. Of course I have a 5a tender but with my luck I will be somewhere without access to AC power to use it, or no extension cord, or both.

I dont think I would be that paranoid with a good battery condition...HOwever, Yea if it depletes, just know the gam you are in....and what could happen...I would just ride it..and if I found myself in this condition...I would call local HD shop and have them take care of it or quick charge....
I mean, I would think you could jump start it but dont quote me....
BTW, forums can make the symptoms worse...just know their are people that have jumped it and say they have no issues..ETC. ETC....

I'm thinking mainly of the battery drain issue, along with the paranoia around jump starting. I need to let mine site for a few days at home not on the charger to see how it does I guess.
I'm having a hard time understanding how a NOCO jump pack can damage the electronics. Isn't it just a battery? I can understand possible damage jumping from a car while the car is running. Can someone clarify?

yea. Until i can get a clear answer, im just going on the safe side but yea..feels like s little urban legend..but i keep in reading back and forth on this..

I think the issue is the high amperage/voltage that those packs hit it with, all at once.
is interesting watching how these devices respond to load, some of them are spikey and maybe that is part of the problem. I wish HD would give some guidance though, because as was stated above it is getting a lot of varied opinions about it. Of course one could argue that jump starting a car improperly can also lead to fried electronics, so who knows.
Yeah, I’m also waiting for official Harley Davidson guidance. For now, I guess I’m carrying my jump pack for others to use. Kinda like my tool kit and tire inflator, come to think of it. My time as a Cub Scout must’ve taught me to prepare ahead of time (as much as possible).
