Carb to EFI tank on Night Train
Can anyone tell me if a '04 carb. tank will fit on my '04 EFI Night Train? I am looking at a paint set and don't want to buy it if it won't work. From what I have heard it WILL work, but has anyone actually done it and is it a PITA? I understand you have use an adapter kit... Don't really need the tank, I need the fenders, but might keep the tank for future use. If it won't work maybe I can get the set and resell the tank. The rear fender is the same, right?

sorry but no, the efi tank has a big hole with a plate under the dash, this is for the fuel pump. carb tanks dont have this, the fuel valve is diffrent as well! but you are all good with the fenders[sm=groupwave.gif]

There is a difference in FI and Carb tanks. The FI has a fuel pump in the tank and the carb unit is dependent on gravity feed of fuel. Pickups are different.

04 & up tanks are all the same, they both have the big opening under the dash. You will just swap the components from your tank over to the new tank. I know this because I put a harley paint set on my bike and it was for 04& Up Carb and EFI. I put it on a Carb bike.....buy on!

WELL , I supose that XXX would know , (owning a 05 vs my 03 ) I have been looking for a set on tins to and I was (intell now) looking for a efi tank thinking that HD was still using 2 deferent tanks we both learned something today[sm=smiley14.gif]
