I had the Clear Kuryakyn and the broke up so easy...the Black ones from HD just looked better to me than the leather ones and i din;t want the maintenance of leather...My $.02
A lot of riders,... Just by looking at pictures of my product think it's just leather or even covered with it. There's no leather on it. It's aluminum covered with the exact grained vinyl as an HD's stock seat covering. An extension of one's saddle.
It's totally maintenance free. Just wash it right along with your scoot.

I went with the Kuryakn (probably miss-spelled) and very happy with them. Made a big difference at a rally when we were stopping and creeping along last summer. I was told the install was easier than the HD. I went with the smoked mirror finish.
I installed the HD units. Was not aware of aftermarket units (new to HD and a cruiser this size, hehehe).
Install of the HD units is not that difficult. You need a small hammer to insert the bottom threaded inserts and the patience of a saint to insert the threaded clip on the top hole. I used long nose pliers to hold and insert the top clip. Good luck trying to find that clip if it falls... so make sure you get it in half way before letting go.
I'm thinking of painting a set to match my bike. I have Lt/Dk Root beer SG and they just kinda look out of place on there. wachuko, hope you don't mind...I used your bike and made a "crude" photo shop to see how they would look with a paint match. What do you think, too much? does it look ok? or not worth the trouble

I color matched mine when I did the inner fairing i think it looks better than black plastic
I'm getting mine and my wifes Bike ready for hot weather. Just wanted to share with you a set of heat shields that really work. Last year shortly after buying my wife her SG Trike, I was getting ready to spend some money trying to cool her 103 engine to where it wouldn't burn her right leg. I did the Stage1 and xieds. it helped a lot, but her right leg was cooking. I was about to buy a catless header when we met Captain Itch at the Tennessee State Hog Rally. He said try one if you don't like it, bring it back! We tried one of his Crotch Coolers on her bike and mine. She hasn't complained about heat since. Just put them back on for hot weather coming up. Money well spent! They WORK!! Igave the HD heat shields that came on her Trike to a forum member. They were a joke compared to these.
I have both the mid-frame and batwing adjustable air deflectors both are from the H-D catalog and both work well. I particularly like the adjustable fairing deflectors as I can direct air across the engine as I need it and keep my a$$ from frying. I put them on both mine and my wife's 2008 FLHX's.
