When my battery finally goes I will be heading to Walmart. I put one of their Yuasa batteries in my Yamaha Grizzly in 2004 and it still fires right up. I think it was 84 dollars.
My original Harley Davidson battery crapped out within six months, and was covered under warranty. After five years I replaced that one with a Deka East Penn battery http://www.dekabatteries.com/ , they make the Harley Davidson battery's
I also have my bike plugged into a Battery Tender when ever I'm not riding, made a big difference on my last bike for extending battery life.
Info below is from other threads:

I would order online, it would be cheaper and they probably sell a lot more of them then a local shop, which would most likely get you a fresher battery then one that has been sitting on a shelf for who knows how long. Some quotes from other threads that should help.

When batteries start to die the engine will hard start as they lose their ability to handle the load on startup.
If you need a new battery go to the East Penn Deka website as they make all of the Moco batteries. Call them to find a local distributor and you will save $30 over the dealer cost. If the battery takes a good charge and runs down again then test your stator & vr for charging voltage.

Run wires directly to the battery (use Loc-Tite). To make a quick connect / disconnect you can solder wires to a banana jack and mount it some were out of sight. Use an additional banana jack on the Battery Tender leads.

I use Deka. They did have a 2 year warranty but now it looks like 1 year, still twice the time as most of 'em. I have installed close to a 100 Deka's in my part time ATV service business and never have had one go bad. Think the last Deka I have replace was close to 6 years old. Have let them set 3 months at a time and the voltage check is around 12.5.
When I finished putting the 87 chopper together in 2000 went out and got the best Batt. Napa had, it went belly up on me 2 yrs. later and 260 mi. from home got to a Walmart and grabbed the cheapest Batt. they had it was in the bike 7 yrs. and never missed a beat. I think for some reason a lot of the times bike Batteries are sort of a crap shoot, you get good ones and bad ones just sort of the luck of the draw.
This morning I put in a Big Crank ETX30L I got at Amazon (actual seller was Battery Mart). I'm pretty sure it is the EXACT battery as the original equipment with a differently colored and branded case. Even the posts are the same. It slid right in and fired right up. Big Crank was $97 shipped to my door, HD was $170 + tax and I had to go to the store to pick it up. Easy choice. They also sell that same battery at the Auto Zone near my house--they are getting $129 for it.
Mine died on a Monday. We have a local battery dealer for Interstate Batteries and he installed it for $119. 600 cca if I remember correctly. Sealed and all that too. I couldn't tell it from the OEM.

So no one has tried the new Lithium Ion batteries they make for the bikes? Been thinking about that for my next battery. Saw a you tube about one, cranked a <100 ci chopper for about 7 minutes until the boot on the positive cable at the starter caught fire!
