Hi All,
Has anyone here had anything to do with the SAS 2000 Softail rear air shock system?
My dilema. I have a 2008 FXSTC and carry a pillion sometimes. The standard shocks are way too rough when set for pillion when solo and bottom out bad when set for solo and carry a pillion.
This system seems good because you can change the ride on the go.
I have the Arnott Sir Suspension on my Rocker C and the Legend Air on my FXST. Both work great and you can air up both on the run as well. Both systems greatly improved the ride on my bikes. I am sure you will be like the air ride.
I don't think you can make a stock softail "lay frame" My buddy had a custom chopper that could, but the air shock was on the springer frontend. But like I said, it was all custom. He bought it from South Florida Choppers, but with out the twin turbos.
There are multiple air ride systems available for your bike. The SAS is a very nice system and it's main advantage is taht the compressor is mounted with the shocks all in one unit. The down side to that is that it has to be dropped to change the transmission oil. I have a Platinum bleed and feed, but there is also a Progressive Air Tail kit, Hi Lo Rider kit, Arnott kit, and the list goes on. Prices vary, but i believe the SAS is the most expensive kit. Once you decide on a kit drop me a PM and I'll put you in touch with a friend who can hook you up with whichever kit at cost. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply HG and others,
What's the difference between the simple and bleed feed units?
The main reason for looking at air suspension is to improve the ride. We have crappy roads here, also my cook (old lady) has had a broken lower back. I would like to be able to adjust the suspension quickly between pillion and solo riding and road conditions. Not overly concerned with the height thing. I would rather be comfortable than cool.
