Default Air Ride question..

Is there a air ride set up out there that you dont have to drop the unit to change the tranny fluid? I'm looking for the most dependable system, that you would not have to drop to service the bike.. Any opinions from you guys that have air installed?

I have the Hi-Lo Rider on my Deuce which does not require you to remove it to get to the tranny plug. You raise the rear wheel, lower it onto a 2x4 and then let all the air out of the system and then you have access to the plug.

Progressive Airtail doesn't have to be removed to changed the fluid.

I know a guy with the Arnott system. They are having issues with leaking. Their customer service has been top notch, but they need to work out the bugs.

I have a system that requires removal to reach the plug (Shotgun Shocks). I only ride between 8-10k miles/ year. If I'm not mistaken, in later models, the MOCO calls for changing tranny fluid every 20k miles. I don't mind dropping the shocks every other year to change it.....it's not a big deal. Even if I had to do it once a year, it wouldn't be a problem; it's not that difficult to do, and takes a entire 10 extra minutes.

You don't have to do anything with the Platinum bleed feed but pull the plug. Hi Lo you need to get the rear wheel up on a block and then drop the air out of the system to get to it. Still not too bad. The progessive air ride is kinda funny because one of the shocks is a spring shock while the other is an air ride. So, it is really half an air ride. I have never tested the progressive. We are now offering the Platinum bleed feed system as well. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. We are working closely with the owner of Platinum to be able to offer them at our discounted rate. Here is the ad. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/vendo...y-goodies.html

Igot a hi/lo just remove the rear bolt on one of the shocks it swings down pull the f&cking tranny plug, if you can lossen the tranny drain bolt you should be smart enough to unbolt the shock. You shouldnt base your air system off whether or not its hard to pull the tranny plug haha if you get an air ride you should know your way around it because you may end up with a problem down the road and pay some dude big bucks to do simple sh$T

There is no need to pull the shocks to drain the tranny with the hi lo if you have a lift. Just raise the air ride and raise it up on the lift. Put a 2x4 under the rear wheel. Dump the air ride and you will have access to the drain plug. You can also get to the drain plug to loosen it from the side of the bike with a wrench.

This is actually going on my cousins bike, and does no maintence what so ever, so I was just trying to save him some trouble when having the bike serviced.. I like the way the Bleed feed system has the ability to adjust ride quality though...
