Default Air Ride

Ok, thinking of putting air ride on my bike. Got a good price from DR. V-twin.

Curious to see what everyone else is running maybe tell me why you picked what brand you did and if you have tried any others

I choose shotgun shocks, main reason being that the air is locked in and the bike can still be raised if the compressor fails. In theory you could do with out the compressor and use a hand pump...

The ride is awesome and to be able to slam it when parked but drive fully raised (roads are totally **** here) is main advantage of any air ride!

Shotgun Shock...best air ride available..give "JD" a call for pricing.

Ride is amazing!!! There's a reason why you see alot of this brand shocks being installed on so many bikes on this forum,,,because its the best unit available at this time.

Go to the Shotgun channel on u-tube and you will learn all you need about this system. http://www.youtube.com/user/SHOTGUNSHOCK

I haven't installed mine yet, but I went with Shotgun Shock due to the features, like still being able to raise your bike in the unlikely event of a compressor failure. It's also a bonus that they've gone to a bigger compressor, and all the wiring is plug and play, and the switches already mounted on a bracket. All I'll have to do is mount the compressor and shock, plug in the wiring and hook it up to the battery. Nice and easy.

Dealt with JD directly and got a better deal than any I'd seen offered on the Platinum bleed & feed or anything else.

Shotgun is a great product, no doubt about it. I have Platinum which he designed as well. It is also a great system. I actually had an air line hit my belt on the freeway at 80 mph. Guess what? No problem There are two air cylinders in each shock body and I had no issue. I didn't even realize it happened until I got home. I am not concerned about the air line from the compressor breaking as I have been riding on air rides for 4 years now and the only failure was due to installer (me) error. I send people to JD all the time. A little honesty is nice, but I still love my Platinum. It rides perfect all the way around. I won't get into the tranny oil change thing right now.
