It can be easily done at home. I have installed numerous air ride systems on bieks adn the Shotgun is by far the easiest isntall of any of them. A first time instlal should take a few hours I'd figure. I can easily do it in 1.5-2 hours by myself. The hardest part is getting the stock shock bolts loose. Really, it is.
I'd say I took about 3 hours installing mine. I'd also say it's a pretty easy install, and straightforward. No worry on wiring, since it's already put together. Just bolt everything in place and hook it up, basically.
Just the rear shock bolts are a pain in the *** to get loose. They are torqued on at 130 ft pounds. You can do it yourself. Just need a lift and the tools to do it. The rear bolts are 3/4 inch.
if you know righty-tighty, lefty-loosey you can do it. i did mine over the course of about 3 days, just putting in a couple hours after work. spent more time bs'n and drinking beer than anything else. i wont do anything less than perfect on my bike so i spent a little more time with routing the wiring and switch placement. it really is a very easy install
