Default 2003 flhtci audio button

I have a 2003 ultra. All my handlebar controls work except the audio control button. Volume works but not audio. Any advice? Bike is stock except the slip on pipes.

Not sure what You mean by the audio button, but my mode switch button, didn't work well. Had to push it 10-30x before mode would switch. Eventually volume would blast up to max, then cut out. So now it only works intermittently. I never fixed it , because I enjoy riding without music, and don't feel like paying to chase gremlins.

I have been told the mode switch can be replaced.

Yes it's the mode switch. Can it be replaced without replacing the entire assembly?

My dealer told me it could be fixed for around $100, but I never pursued it.
