My 2011 TriGlide does not have the Nav system installed.
How big of a deal is it to have it installed and is it worth it?
I really don't want to have to mount my Garmin and find a way to power it and all that BS.
But I would like to have the Nav system so what are my options and, if known, associated costs?
Thanks.
If you can remove your outer fairing its really not difficult to wire for power at all. I'm a big fan of the mount I use, it puts the Garmin right below your line of sight so you have your eyes off the road as little as possible. Its quicker to look here than your speedometer. They sell for about $50 on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-David...c22a8f&vxp=mtr

are you referring to the NAV system that can be installed in the HD stock head unit/radio? If so;
1. you'll be hard pressed to find one
2. they aren't worth a crap and you can't see the maps on the small display
If you're referring to aftermarket products, sky is pretty much the limit on mounting and wiring. if your garmin is a 660 or 665 model you can get the wiring kit and fairing mounting kit so the device is not mounted to your handlebars but instead on the top left of the fairing itself and everything is hidden (wiring)

I have a garmin nuvi 1450 that I would like to continue to use, if possible.
Do you have a link to find the mounting kit you mentioned?
Thanks.
hd_rolling has you covered there. In addition, the fairing mounted bracket I was referring to is only used on the Garmin 660 and 665 and then the HD version of those units, Roadtech 660 and Roadtech 665.
Ram mount has a TON of options for you to mount your GPS whether it be fairing, handlebars, etc. Check them out.
