Default Battery options for the audio upgrade.

So after much work I got my stereo done (for now) with six hertz speakers and the JL amp. I know some of you don't like the xd400/4 but I'm happy. I trust feedback I've gotten and if I think my stereo sounds awesome and you all have been there, done that, and moved on up.....I wonder how loud your **** is!!! Lol. Anyway, I found some posts on batteries but they are kinda old. I am probably fine with one amp but would like to upgrade my battery just cause. I want to give my baby the best. My diesel truck has 1 red and 1 yellow top optima.. Cause that's how I treat those I love. What is the best way to go with a battery that holds lots of juice for parking lot enjoyment? Thx as always..

I cannot speak for other brands of batteries because I have only used the Harley battery and the Odyssey battery. I recently put the Odyssey battery in my bike as I saw good reviews and some unhappy reviews before I purchased it. It ain't cheap, but I wanted a really good battery I could depend on. So far, I am very happy. Though I don't normally leave my tunes turned up and leave the bike sitting while not running either. My main reason was plenty of cranking amps and they claim an excellent reserve. As I said, so far, I am extremely happy with it. From what I have read, you shouldn't leave a normal battery tender on it in off season but get the odyssey battery tender. I didn't do that, as I just put the charger on it once in a while because the odyssey battery is supposed to hold an 80% charge up to two years when stored properly, however in the bike, I doubt it will hold that long. But, I usually start the bike at least once a month and take it down the block and back just to keep the moving parts moving.

The factory battery will be way more than enough , if you're only running the JL 400/4.....Keeping it on the tender , when not on the road, will add years of life to it !! The factory batteries are actually pretty good !!!

Agreed....
Keep in mind if you don't have the battery on a tender while parked and playing, when the battery runs down to a certain point, the bike will shut down and you will need a tender to bring the bike back up. (computer controlled) It needs a certain battery level and if it isn't there, the bike will shut down.

Found that out when playing tunes in my driveway. Radio quit. Bike wouldn't start then and I needed the tender.

I buy all my batteries from Battery Mart. There battery specs either match or in most cases exceed Harley OE specs. Right now they have a battery tender on sale for $36 that works on 6v or 12v and has a 3yr warranty. They have really fast delivery. I found out the hard way if the battery aint no good neither will the tunes.
