Default Differences in polyfil??

Getting ready for final button up and had a final thought. I picked up some polyfil from Wally World and have that on hand. Bought a set of speakers from Gannicus and he threw in some sheets of polyfil. They are however pretty different. The stuff I bought is much thinner and seems to be more tightly woven as opposed to the sheets Gann sent me which is thicker but not as tightly woven (think...fluffier). The question is which would do a better job of achieving the desired results out of the Kappas? I've read that too much is just as bad as none and can't help but wonder if the tightness of the weave would make a difference.

Figured a picture might help. The stuff I bought is on the right and the stuff Gannicus sent me is on the left.

mine is about 3/8 to 1/2 thick (W-mart version) when uncompressed. I got 3 layers...

That sounds like the stuff Gann sent me and where my question stems from. I'm thinking that three layers of the stuff I bought, while thinner, might be too dense once wrapped around the speaker and be the equivalent of "too much".

I've always used the thin stuff, in 3 layers.

Thanks to everyone for the input. I get to thinking about the science of stuff and too often can't stop analyzing the why's and what if's. I can't tell you how often I got my *** in trouble as a kid for taking apart things I wasn't supposed to just to see how it worked.

At this point I look at it one of two ways. First, I've paid for whatever it is and can do whatever I damn well please with it.....right or wrong and sometimes regrettably, lol. The other is at 6'2" and close to 3 bills if anyone wants to stop me they are welcome to try but I can't guarantee much success....unless of course it's the wife. She's often pretty successful at getting me to do what she would like.

The wrong part is what I hate. It usually means it the project cost just went up.

And, it's amazing just how successful they are at getting their way with so little effort.
