Did you ever get this figured out?

The kappas for my rear pods will be here tomorrow so I plan on doing the install soon.

Also, did you mount the speakers on top of the pod or take the pod off and mount it on the inside? I have been searching for this answer but can't seem to find much on it. Thanks.

If anyone comes across this and is wondering about it. I mounted the speakers on the outside. It doesn't look like there would be enough room on the inside, at least on my 08.

I also took the extra brackets that came with the speaks, cut of the extra tabs, and used those as spacers on the back of the speaker as the speakers were a little too big to sit down all the way in the pods.

Any speaker that you would mount in the rear pods would be mounted from the outside. My Infinitys wouldn't fit without the spacers either. Don't really understand how some will fit and some won't.

I ordered Infinity Kappas for fairing speakers and they should be in today or tomorrow. Was wondering if anyone tried fitting them in fairing with their grills and if any mods where needed to make em fit?

Anything is possible I suppose. You could probably get the grills in there with some modifications to them. I believe most of the guys just run the stock Harley grill up front.

Yeah just used stock grills. Man I like them kappa grills though. Pretty sweet speaker setup so far. Hope they are more reliable then the polk audio mm651's.
