Default New audio install

So got everything together to upgrade part of the audio system. Alpine amp, Polk MM465 component set and JL Audio adapter rings. Well, the Polk woofers are bigger than the adapter rings. The mounting holes are partly outside the outer edge of the rings. Anyone else using these speakers? If so what adapter rings did you use?

Checked out their website and in the description for the rings it reads..

"Both models are designed to accommodate the JL Audio C3-650 or C5-650 speakers and include all mounting hardware for the fairing and the speakers."

Looks like they were designed to work specifically with their own speakers. UN always recommends the ARC adapter rings. A lot of other guys have also used the Eastern Performance Cycle adapters without issue. I wasn't one of them. They worked but I had some depth issues on my RG and had to trim down them down about a 1/4".

So a buddy of mine had arc rings from his 2012 street glide that he had laying around and gave them to me. Guess what? The Polks don't fit those either. The mounting holes from the Polks are outside to the adapter rings.

Anyone else seen or used these prior to them being discontinued? The only thing I can possibly come up with, and this is just a S.W.A.G. is that with the connection to Momo and the European influence on these caused the 6 3/4" dimension to be truer than on most speakers because it came from the conversion from a metric measurement.

A possible solution...is there enough room on the frame of the speaker to drill out screw holes that would like up with the adapter screws?

That's actually what I was thinking. I will keep everyone posted.

So a dremel and metal cutting bit and the mounting holes now line up. I'm use to custom work. Almost nothing aftermarket is plug and play. Hope this helps others, It's not a big deal to drill new holes. I can say that the Arc Audio adapters are much shallower and therefore a better option for speakers like mine that have a giant magnet.
