the ones harley put in on the boom upgrade. They worked before I put the new head unit in and work when not connected to the amp so it has to be the remote power wire from the radio that needs to connect to the amp. What wire on the HD harness that connects to the amp is the question.
Yeah trouble shooting is a bitch. If I'm looking at your wiring diagram correctly. There is no remote wire. Strictly power and ground. Unfortunately Harley Davidson doesn't make thier BOOM wiring harness user friendly for after market applications. I've brainstomed this thing out and it's not making any sense to me.
The boom system is plug and play. Everything you need to turn the amp on should be integrated into the harness. knowing Harley Davidson they probably have some proprietory stuff going on that prevents the BOOM system from being integrated with anything other than the HK unit. Do you know anyone else who has the BOOM system with an aftermarket radio?
I'd suggest you call HD in the morning and ask your question about the remote on the harness. I don't think you are going to like the answer. But I'd give it a shot anyway.
I am trying to install new amp and speakers using Rockford Fosgate DSR1 for my 2017 Roadglide special. It won't come on. I have connected to the remote accessories wire which I read about on the forum. stated it was on the brake side purple and black wire. I ordered the connecting splitter wire from HD, chopped off one end and connected the blue and white remote input from the dsr1. I also connected the black ground wire to the black wire on the splitter which could be my problem. I get no status light on the dsr1 meaning it is not turning on and no sound which inturn I can not connect to dsr1 using Bluetooth.. can someone please help me.
Double check that you did not get the two blue wires mixed up. If you put a spade connector on the blue wire check to see if you mite have slid it in to far when crimping. That wire is very small and can go in to far and not get connection when crimped. Also did you hook up the yellow to constant power?
