From what I read it would not be good for the 7.1 replacing the front JM though correct?
I looked at the other amps that were recommended, but they are a good bit larger (for in the fairing) with the other modules that I have on top of the radio.
Posted a question (very similar in nature not exact mind you) somewhere else to someone else that I trust (whose name cannot be mentioned). He recommended just going with the PBR300x2. 50 dollars less so thats good. Only concern now is that I think the JM speakers that I have are 2ohm. Can I mix 2 and 4 ohm speakers on one amp if I go with the BK7.1?

The X2 is a great recommendation. No problem running two and four ohm speakers on that amp separately. But you will not be able to run that combination of speakers off the same amp. Running 4 speakers in parallel would bring the JM speakers down to a 1 ohm load. You need 2 sets of 4 ohm speakers.

Thanks Gannicus...I couldnt remember how that worked. I used to do car audio years ago and forgot how that worked. (Not a whole lot of time to do research). I read through several threads last night and REALLY like the prices on the SS and the CWB2 (right around a bill) but dont want to risk losing FM. I dont always have the GPS with me and dont want to have to worry about CD's. This is kind of frustrating.

Two PBR300X2's will do the trick and keep FM. Run one to the 7.1's and the other to the JM speakers. You will have $300.00 in amps at that point. Another $200.00 will get you the 4180.
I'm only going to be able to do one amp and the 7.1's for a long while. Kids tuition is killing me!
Looking over things it may be a while before I can spend more than a couple bills. Was considering testing out the 4ch NVX and then reselling it to a friend or on Ebay recouping the money and waiting until next Christmas to get the 7.1's and another amp....

Been there done that with the tuition. Totally understand. The daughter getting married is the Killer!! The boys are easy. It's the girls that stay in your pocket. . . .lol
Take your time brother. This stuff is only going to get better with time.
