I run mine about 85-90 on HP and pretty happy with it. I'm pretty new to this though, so hopefully the big dogs will add their input.

And what's the difference between HP and AP and which should I be in? For some reason I was in AP with my old speakers.

AP is "All Pass" meaning all frequencies pass thru to the speakers. HP is "High Pass" and only the higher frequencies pass to the speakers depending on where you set the dial. The dial does nothing when you have the switch at AP. LP is "low pass" for subs. You don't want LP. It's up to your ears where to put the switch, either AP or HP and then you adjust the dial.

AP is "all pass" and allows all signals through regardless of the setting. LP and HP are "low pass" and "high pass", LP allows signals below the setting through, HP allows signals above the setting through. By going to HP and putting it around 80-90 you're allowing some bass signal through to preserve sound quality, but stopping the heavy duty bass signals to protect the speakers. The terminology and numbers may very amp to amp, but that's what I remember from my 300x2.

Sorry for the repeat info. Doobie types faster than me.....

If the RF amp is set on HP (High Pass) then the freq setting will not allow anything below the number, IE 65hz to pass through. AP will allow All freq to pass through so the Freq dial is invalid.

Too late to the game....

If you are going to run on HP the frequency should be set on about 80hz. HP (High pass) allows to set your limits on your sound coming through the speakers. Since most of us don't have Subs on our bikes to do the dirty work. We run full range speakers. AP or (All pass) is used to let all your low frequencies come through the "Full Range" speakers. it's also called FP or Full pass.

Head is spinning just a little...so if I leave it in AP then the frequency setting is mute because it doesn't matter. Right? But if I want to play with HP, don't set it above 80 or so. Am I tracking?
