Head is spinning just a little...so if I leave it in AP then the frequency setting is mute because it doesn't matter. Right? But if I want to play with HP, don't set it above 80 or so. Am I tracking?

You're correct on AP. In HP you don't want to go below about 80 - going too far above 80 will just cut more signal out and give you a tinny sound. Going too far below 80 will let too much through and potentially toast your speakers.
Thank you all very much. I got the speakers installed today and very pleased with how they sound already...just wrapped in polyphil and the fairing still off. I'm replacing the rubber seal between the two fairing halves or I'd be done. I'll do an update to my original thread when I get everything put back together but so far I'm very, very pleased. Can't wait to test it on the road. Thanks for all you folk's help.
Read somewhere to have the "wiring connection" on the inside. Well that is on the exterior and the tweeter are facing inwards. Hooked everything up and fired it up on the first try and I have excellent sound! I haven't set the amp gains or anything just started it up and it sound damn good. Still need to buy the polyfil though.
Previous street glide had the hog tunes amp and speakers, that I thought was pretty good. Current street glide had the stock stereo and speakers not much to say about that. Well the pbr300x2 & infinity kappas blow that away, like it the set up right off the back. Will do the polyfil and set the gains sometime this week.

Which polyfil did you buy and how much did you wrap it around? Can you post some pictures? Just finished my installation this evening and love the sound. Still have to set the gains on the amp though.
OSUHD,
I just went to Wally-World and bought what they had...found it in the sewing section. I got between 2 and 3 full wraps and secured it with zip ties. These Kappas move a lot of air. I'll try and get a couple pics after work. I just set my gains by ear, (there's a sticky) but compared to my old speakers, I had to really crank on them to get where I knew the sound was distorting even a little. They are that clear. And it was raining so I was in my garage with the door open...not the best place for such, but hey, it was raining. Oh, and the wiring, with the way the wires connect to the speakers it's not an issue to have them to the outside. Good luck.
