Default Biketronics Bezel

I am thinking of upgrading my stereo on my 2011 Street Glide. I currently have a Boom speaker up front. Only issue that is holding me back is I have a painted inner fairing (black) and I am thinking the Biketronics bezel won't match the painted inner. I like Hawg Wired kit (the metal bezel in particular) but I like how Biketronics kit is installed plus the lifetime warranty.

Has anyone painted the bezel? Also can I use the smooth side or do I have to use the textured side?

This is the kit I want to go with:

I just need to find out the model of the head unit they are selling. I am looking for a Sony unit that has Am/FM, CD, USB, and Bluetooth.

Thanks

Never thought about painting on mine. I also painted the inner fairing and dont remember it being smooth. Maybe I could've painted it gloss black? Good luck, it should look schweeet.

DId you price out Biketronics for the same set? Email or call Bill

Hi,

We have lots of guys paint the bezel, just need to use a decent plastic primer first. That eastern perf package is a older one with the 6.5" speakers, you would be better starting with the one mentioned above and choosing the 7.1".

Just purchase this piece from Hawg Wired and purchase the rest of the kit from Biketronics. You would do much better calling Bill directly rather than going through eastern performance.

I used the smooth side. I cleaned and scuffed, shot a couple coats of SEM high build primer, a quick sand then shot some gloss black. All spray can products, I wasn't mixing for this little project. It blends right in....looks clean

I've bought lots of stuff from Eastern Perfomance, they have been good to deal with, but for the Biketronics stuff, go to Bill. He knows their products, less hassle with warranty buying direct, and they can sometimes give a good deal when buying quite a few things.
