I've been looking at getting an aftermarket HU but I'm trying to justify spending more money on the bike but I would recoup most of the money selling the stock radio..

There is a decent demand for them. Some bikes didn't come with a stereo and I believe they've the wiring harness already which makes it a simple plug & play. I sold my stock head unit and speakers on craigslist for $300, it covered my head unit and wiring plus some.
