This is great information. Will the Kicker - CS65 6-1/2" fit directly into the fairing or do you need spacers/modifications?
Thanks for the info,
Brian
You will need a set of spacer adapters to convert the 5.25 opening to 6.5. We recommend Arc audio adapters. But eastern performance adapters fit nicely as well. These are sold on EBay.
I hate to ask so many questions, but I haven't dealt with amps since 1981.(LOL)
I was wondering if the RZ42000D would be an improvement over stock system. I purchased the kicker C65's from best buy and ordered the speaker adapters from ebay. Now I'm trying to make a decision on the amp. Will the RZ4200D allow me to listen to FM stations? Do I need additional supplies to connect it to the head unit? I guess my overall goal is to have an ok system that sounds better than stock.
Thanks again,
Brian Edley
By the way I listened to the kickers at best buy connected to an amp and I was impressed.

Briguy - It's going to be very difficult to have great sound on a budget and keep FM radio. It's a major trade off. Guys who want to keep FM radio on these bikes and have great sound will have to purchase the Biketronics 2180 with 4 ohm speakers or the PBR300x2 with two ohm speakers. Pretty much the only options you have keeping FM. Plenty options without FM. Class D amps due to their efficiency are the best amps for our bikes. Unfortunately they don't play well with FM radio.
I guess Ill have to give up FM radio for now. Will everything else still work? Will I need additional equipment to connect the RZ42000D to the kickers and head unit?
Thanks,
Brian

If you have the stock head unit all you need is the 8 gauge boss wiring kit and the speaker adapters. Use 16 ga. wire for your install.

Cerwin b2 , if installed in the saddle bag would you still lose FM, using rca cables ran to the front. Considering adding this amp for saddlebag speakers , to possibly keep fade control.

The Cerwin Vega B2 is a great amp! But as always with class D there is a possibility he could lose FM. Some guys do and some guys don't. It's a crap shoot.
