thx, do you think there is a big difference between the Titan II 6.5's and the 7P1's?
Also, the kickers would use the grill that comes with those speakers. Is there any issue\concern with water\sun damage? Do I need to purchase any special kind of grill? Just curious, never replaced any speakers on anything what will see the elements like that... :-)
I run them in parallel, both get equal amount of power. Both get loud without distortion, the 7.1's have a better low end resoponse.
Was just curious because if you get either set with the BT4180 amp, there is about a $200(extra) difference getting the Titian's vs the 7.1's
So the 7.1's and the Kickers with the BT4180... Seems to be the right system for me. I know I have asked a **** load of questions, but after my HT experience, I am dotting all my i's and crossing all my t's this time...

The kickers hold up great in the elements. Not a concern. Use the grills that come with the speakers.

No worries man. You came to the right spot!
I think once you put this together you'll be very happy with the end result.
Hey guys.. One more question. I went on crunch field to order those Kickers this AM. I noticed they are 4ohm, but the BK4180 is 2ohm up to 4 speakers and 4ohm 8 or more? Am I missing something, wouldn't I need to order a 2ohm speaker?

When you wire two sets of 4ohm speakers in parallel it drops the impedance to 2ohm. At 2ohm with the 2180 and 4180 you get more output. That's how/why you can push 4 speakers from a 2channel 2180 and 8 from the 4180.
Technically you CAN also power a single 2 ohm speaker from either amp on its own channel.
keep in mind with BT2180 or 4180 I personally would not push 1 2 ohm speaker per channel... we are talking about potentially over 300W RMS to 2 ohm. there are not a lot of speakers that can handle that... some 6x9s "can" (like my JBL P963).
Hey Jamal,
You seem to be going through the same thing as me for the last few months. After months of research (mostly on this forum), I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the whole Biketronics setup. I went with the Kenwood head unit, Bt4180, 7.1 fairing speakers and some Alpine tourpack speakers, which Bill told me would work just fine. My order shipped yesterday. I'm assuming that everything I need , as far as speaker grills , connectors, etc..
Maybe Haze would know?? Can't wait to hear this system. Seems like alot of people rave about it. Good luck with your final decisions.

Thx, was out of town since Thur... So now I am getting back into this project. The guys on this forum have been great.. Tons of help... I was looking at the head units over the weekend. If I went that route I would have to get the kit that they sell that allows you to keep your handlebar controls. But otherwise for the most part, I am getting what you are with the exception of getting the Kickers in the rear pods vs the Alpines.
