Default Time to upgrade

I want to upgrade my system from Hogtunes to something with more punch. Don't know exactly what is on the bike right now, previous owner installed the 2 channel system. I'd like to upgrade to 6.5in faring speakers and a better amp. Been looking around and found the following:

Kicker 40CS654
or
Polk Audio DB651

Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2
or
Pyle PLMRMP1B

I'm just wondering if these choices are good or if they have issues? Or if there is something out there better for the price.

Are you looking to keep FM?

two biggest questions:

What's your budget?

Do you mind losing some (or all) FM reception?

Lots of great choices out there. I wouldn't put Pyle in the category of what you listed above and would steer clear. Folks have stopped using the Polks as they have issues with the tweeter stalks. If you don't mind losing FM reception there's lots of great amps out there - Cerwin Vega B2, RZ42000D, BT. Speakers - Infinity Kappa 62.11i, Kicker KSC67,

and if you have the funds. Anything Biketronics.

FM is not a big deal but I do use it once and a while on trips so I guess the answer is I'd like to keep it functional. Budget wise 'd like to stay under the 400-500 mark.

400-500 is a great number!

Budget upgrade:

RF PBR300X2 (this will 100% keep FM reception) - 150.00
Infinity Kappa Speakers 62.11 - 130.00
+ adaptors, amp kit, etc.

Next level up
- Cerwin Vega B2 - 150 (some lose FM, some don't)
- Biketronics 7.1 - 250ish (comes with adapters)
+ amp wiring kit

Sound wise the second is a significant upgrade in sound, but you risk FM reception. Forum member Little Mike upgraded from the first set-up to the second. He has a post with a review, he can also chime in on how much FM reception he lost.

Thank you for the info haze.

Anyone have a coupon code for Biketronics?

Shoot BT PM, they have a subform in the vendor section.

Haze, would you happen to know where I can get the amp wiring kit or part number for the B2 to look for?

I recommend to people go to amazon or ebay and order the Boss 10 gauge kit comes with everything you'll need.
