Finished up the install this evening, set the gains by ear for now. Holy Poop! This thing rocks!!!! Money well spent. I'll try to bring home a scope this weekend and set it up proper.
At first I lost about 85% of my radio reception. I grab some stuff from work that we call moon tape. Very thin aluminium tape use for EMC reduction. With the amp mounted on top of the radio I wrapped the front edge of the radio and amp with this moon tape. After that I was back to receiving about 70% of my stations. I then wrapped the antenna coax that was wound up near the underside of the radio and gained a little more reception. I'd say I'm about 85% reception compared to previous setup. Raining all day here so no test ride yet.
Thank you very much for all the help and suggestions, I'm glad I went with the BT7.1's and the B2 amp. Cheers!
Sweet!!! Man I've become of a fan of the B2 and the BT 7.1's are fantastic. Glad you are happy with that set up.
For the reception it also sometimes help if you run the power to the amp on the opposite side of the antenna cable on the radio. 85% reception is a good number though.
