Default Road Glide Set Up

A friend wants to add an amp and 4 speakers to his 2012 Road Glide. 2 speakers will go in the stock location in the fairing and the other 2 he is going to cut into the lower part of the fairing pointing towards the triple tree. There is 2.3125" of room on the inside of the fairing so that is the most important mounting dimension.

Stock HK head unit

Budget is around $600

Fm would be nice but not a deal breaker.

He was going to go with the MM651's but I warned him about the tweeter issues.

The Kappas have a mounting depth of 2.125" so they would fit, but I am not sure of a 4 channel amp that is 2 ohm stable. I mentioned running 2 of the pbr300x2's but I am not sure if 2 will fit in the fairing. Not sure if any amp will fit where they normally go on the side with him adding those 2 extra speakers either.

Thoughts?

Edit..... Just remembered about the Cerwin Vega B4...but that's a definite loss of FM....hhmmmm

I had that set up Rockford Power speakers in the fairing and inner powered by the PBR 300x4 and it was ok. Replaced the RF in the fairing with Focal K2 and kept the RFs in the inner and that sounded very good til a K2 blew.I decided if I'm going to spend that kind of money again I might as well go Biketronics and get the lifetime warranty and awesome customer service. Bought a used inner fairing and put the 7.1 Pros in the stock position,7.1 rear pods powered by the 4180 amp in the inner and I love it. My suggestion for your buddy is to go with the 7.1 and the 2180 amp. A high end speaker in the stock position with big clean power is better than four average speakers and amp. I'm sure Bill will get you at that $600 mark.
