Default Speaker not working

Ok....I have an 09 Ultra with the stock HK radio. The left front speaker has stopped working. Doesn't work with radio, CD, Ipod. I have pulled the front fairing off.....checked connection at speaker, checked other connections (as much as you can) jiggled wires, I even got a different speaker and connected it........no sound. So, its not the speaker. All other speakers work: Anybody have same trouble?

Help?

Thanks,
Jet

very common issue with these HK units. Call Tony @ Iron Cross Audio and he'll be able to take care of you.

FYI : my brother and I have 09 UC . the fairing brackets are known to break causing the radio to hit off the handlebar mount bolts, this damages the speaker driver board , usually causing all speakers to go off and on randomly. Harley knows but didn't recall , but they will sell you special bolts with special head and better support brackets..

Don't get hung up on a marine grade radio. Yes, they are rated for marine use but lots of people use non marine grade head units without any problems. That said, I would recommend a splash guard to cover it when it rains.

Splash guards are a necessity... V-Twin Audio makes a pretty good one, it's pricey but worth the $$$.
