Initial setup advice.
So thanks to this section I think I have what I need to get enough volume out of my system so I can hear my stereo at interstate speeds. So thanks to all you guys who have been there and done that.
I'm replacing my fairing speakers with the infinity 62.11i's and using an Arc ks125.2 to drive them and retaining my stock HK head unit.
Here are my questions.
1) Initial gain setting, following UltraNutz excellent sticky and having a basic understanding of electronics his calculations and settings make sense. Basically I should be outputting 15.8 volts to the speakers at 3/4 volume on the head unit. Do I need to dial back the gain initially to let the speakers loosen up or since they are 225W rated can I just go ahead set the gain and zip it up?
2) The 62.11i's have a 3db boost button for highs on the tweeter, since these will be behind the OEM speaker cover I won't be able to reach it, should I turn that on or just leave it alone?

1. no need to dial it back. the speakers will eventually break in after use and the sound will get better. i typically stick a speaker in my basement on an amp playing pink noise for 100 hours or so before installing them, but then again i have problems when it comes to audio
2. no way to tell you what will sound better to your ears. i would suggest starting without the 3db gain and play with the eq settings on your headunit. if there are not enough highs for you then you can flip the switch and see if you like it better.
