Class D amps tend to kill FM reception, so given that the PBR 300x2 is a proven performer that will save some money over the Biketronics unit. I myself at one time used it with the Polk MM 651's and loved it, but I had longevity problems with the Polks. Had it not been for that I'd still be using them, they sounded great. The 300x2 is stable at both 2 and 4 ohms so your speaker choices are much improved should you decide to change them later on. Lots of folks run it and it's a common go to upgrade. The Biketronics is a better amp IMO, if for no other reason than it has a lifetime warranty but it's costlier. You can't go wrong with either. One thing though.....if you're like me after a while you'll want more. If you decide later to add a second pair of speakers a 4 channel amp is the ticket. If I had known then what I know now I would have gone with a four channel amp from the start, but keeping FM limits your choices.
The 2 channel BT 2180 has a provision to add a second pair of speakers in parallel and is a good choice, but you won't be able to fade front to rear. Not a big deal for some. Certainly not if you're sticking with just two speakers. It's the best amp on the market IMO.
So, I have been looking at the Rushmore RGS and was considering the Boom II system with bag lid speakers,,, What would I be looking in cost if I bought the bike totally stock, and did my system myself, I want very good on the system,, What is the cost on the BT 120 , and what speakers are recommended?
I also would consider HD bag lids, unless it's easy to get them from Hog Tunes with good paint matching, (going with amber whiskey)
Is there a decent estimate I would be looking at for total cost to my door?

Check out the BT site, there are various speaker combos. I can assure that all of the packages will blow away anything Boom. Not sure if Hogtunes has Rushmore lids out. You may need to get the HD ones. Whatever you see that interest you from BT give them a call. They have the best customer service I have ever dealt with and offer a forum discount.
