Posted on their thread "Do you have any Kits" I have a bit of mechanical aptitude, I know a bit about ELECTRONICS, I've lost (so to speak) what I knew about stereo stuff (used to put my stereos in my cars.. when they were much simpler) so what I would love to have from someone, Gannicus or who ever has a set up already? I want reasonably priced, if possible, I do want to keep FM reception, etc...
A shopping list so to speak? (I saw they had a kit for 14 and up Street Glides,) Also saw something about no amp mounts for RG yet?
The real issues is FM reception. Most amps, Class D amps the ones we need to use on our motorcycles, will cause some degree of FM reception. Some folks have better luck than others. So this really limits your options as to what amps you can use. The cheaper ones are decent, the expensive ones.....are expensive. There’s no real in between.
4 speakers, bag lids and Road Glide fairing, I was planning on the Boom II, so I guess if I get better than that for near the same price,,, I'd be pretty happy.
I'd like to keep the stock HU,, since it's got good numbers for harmonic Distortion, etc... (And Nav on the RG Special)
Haze? or one of the other guys who's "in the know" ,, what can I do a NICE sound system for on these? One good 4 ch amp or two 2 ch,, good speakers, and get the flash done?

For a lids and fairing set what's really going to drive the price up or down is the amp. Most class D amps will cause some loss of FM reception if you are ok with that there tons of options. If you must have FM reception then the BT 4180 is your best option.
A nice system will run you between 800 and 1500 bucks and will blow away anything Boom.
Thanks,, when I get the bike, (hopefully within two weeks, I'll be asking for a "Shopping list" Speaker amp combo, I would prefer to keep FM usability....
Thank you everyone that gave me info on the BT2180. I installed it tonight and WOW, could not be happier. I cannot wait to button up the fairing tomorrow and get it out on the road. Thanks also to the folks at Biketronics, great service and suggestions. My only issue was after installing it on my sony 310 my rain door would not retract so I had to rig it up at an angle to the support bracket in the DeadCenter fairing, all is good now. Thanks again...
