Biketronics just like JM offered to replace the items free of charge and sent it out right away. The only difference here is that the OP had an offer to "upgrade" his for an extra $99. I don't have product from either company but am in the process of trying to put together an order from an audio company right now.
The whole point here is that we all have differing opinions on what we like and what we spend out own money on. I don't think its fair to JM to bash him and his product and hold Biketronics to a different standard.
I commend both JM and Biketronics for standing behind their products, neither one of these guys MFG's their own products with their own hands. All they can do is try to source the best MFG and stand behind their own products.

Pete
Thanks for sharing Pete. If you need help with your system choices. We are here to help.

The difference with JM is he CLAIMED to be the engineer that designed his own products. Well I'm an electronics engineer and I do this for a living. I work with other engineers each and every day so I am well versed and quite up to date in this field. Having read John's technical explanations and in querying him myself on some of his claims it is blatantly obvious he is no engineer by any stretch of the imagination. It appears he is reselling offshore product with his name slapped on it. JM foolishly regurgitates to us whatever fanciful spec's the factory in China tells him. This might work for the uninitiated but it doesn't fly with some of the more technically savvy around here. His forte is selling shlock goods, not engineering a quality product.

Nice try Pete. I'm about to call you a troll, but I'll refrain.

I was hoping Gliden would chime in!

Ride - the J&M amp is 500w amp is an Arc Audio 125.4 rebadged and dsp set/programmed for their speakers. Big difference is BT hand builds/assembles all of their amps. I'm no engineer, so thank you for your post

Pete doesn't realize we bash products not to show support to another company, but to save guys like HIM time and money.

You're right, and the Arc Audio 125 is a good amp too, especially when used to its full potential with properly paired speakers. I don't know who John thinks he's fooling with those claims, maybe only himself? Also, just for edification, I understand Biketronics uses premanufactured Hypex amplifier modules from the Netherlands. BT just engineers and assembles their own switching power supplies and enclosures to operate them. But in doing so they do it right with all technical considerations being accounted for. This includies UNDERRATING their systems so they will exceed their claims to the customers benefit.

Thank you. No disrespect pete.
I have zero alliances to biketronics or anyone.
But I do enjoy saving people from doing what I did.
I was you, once.
Ok. Twice.

Look guys,
I have no dog in the race here, A TROLL I am NOT. Ive been on here sense I bought my bike. I have spoke with a few of the different shops on here. I am looking for a GOOD system for my bike, actually some of you have posted on that thread helping me.
My only gripe is that people are bashing JM for actually doing the right thing this time. I can't speak for the past but for a new person here it just appears as a bad forum. It would have come across way better if people would have said "for a crap company, congrats, you are the only person that JM has taken care of".
I do appreciate everything that I am learning here.

Thanks
Pete

Candidly, how much could you know about the history J&M has on this forum with only 9 posts to your credit? Do you know anything about UltraNutz, our former audio administrator? J&M is a sore subject here, and with good reason. I stand behind my statement that BT has a superior product for less money with a better guarantee. If you consider that bashing then so be it.

I can't help myself when I hear that name.
I should have thrown my money out the window. At least some poor son of a bitch who needed it would have been able to pick it up and use it.
Sorry...I'll stop.
