Default Loss of Fader after amp install

I have used the search feature and I'm still unsure. Before I bug my dealer I want to hear form you.

I just picked up a 2015 Limited and I had a BT amp and speakers (BT 2180 and 7.1's) installed before bringing it home. I only replaced the fairing speakers and only amped those. The TP speakers are stock and not amped. My dealer did the install and flashed the system. The tech talked to BT Friday (the 4th) about the newest software issues and the correct flash. My system sounds good but I have no fader. Every time you start the bike the indicator for the fader is in a different position and you can't move it. It doesn't matter though, because it always sounds the same where ever the indicator is located.

Is this normal with the newest BT set ups or not?

Thank you.

I also installed a BT 4180 amp and 4 speakers in my 15 RGS this last weekend. I had no fader to begin with though,, my bike came stock with only 2 speaker setup. I had it flashed to the #2 choice with the Biketronics PDF file they have. my Bin file is 210_OFF.bin. I have the fader option after I had them flash it,, and I did the Pre-Cal reset on the diagnostic page in radio. However I can't fade them,, when I click on F or R they "Highlight" but nothing moves on the bar and they don't fade.

To get to the diagnostic setup, (at least on my 15,, probably the same for you) you have the "Run switch" to run, Push and hold mute button on radio and turn on key. Hold until the radio goes through it's "boot", music will play. When I get the "Accept" prompt and the music stops. Release the mute button, clear the accept prompt. Then simply push the " i " in the middle of right hand box. It will tell you your current "bin" file, and ask if you want to load a different one. (you can't, I don't think) Come back here with the name of your Bin file. (Many on here are trying to compile a data tracker of who has what, and which works best.)

Since you had the fader already,, maybe scroll down through the menu choices to get to the pre-cal reset, and click on it. (This just resets the radio to factory settings, no change to the flash) Maybe that will get your fader to work.) It has to be in the bike radio, the amp has nothing to do with fading, it simply follows the output from the head unit.

Great information Jim. I will try this tonight and get back to you with what version I have. You described the issue perfectly. I can click on the R and F buttons for the fader and they highlight but do nothing. Honestly, the setup sounds fine but I would like to have the control to fine tune it.

Thanks again!

No problem, glad to be able to contribute sometimes and not just ask questions too! Anxious to know what BT option you had them flash with, (new or old, 1 or 2) and what Bin file you have. I have an additional issue too, my EQ doesn't do anything, it moves the bars for Bass/Treble, but no difference in sound.. Called BT they're working on it now, first they heard of that.

Morning Jim,

I tried to do what you suggested. I ended up finding my "Current EQ Version". It was 146_OFF.bin. Is that the right one?
