I have a 2014 FLHXS and have POOR audio. I switched out my Infinity Reference speakers for some Kappas (62.11i). The bass is really bad with the new speakers. I have a magic box and a RF PBR300x2 with the gain set at about 6. The bass even sounds bad at 3 or 4 bars not just turned up. I bought a CW B2 and it has the same problem. The sound form the reference speakers was much better. Is it possible using the wrong speaker polarity could cause this? I haven't done a flash to the factory radio for what it is worth. Thanks for any ideas.

If you have the magic box you should not have to "flash" it's either the flash or the magic box. The infinity speakers are not known for bass. They have a nice thump to them when the power is put to them but there are other 6.5 speakers that have more bass. The infinity's are known for their clarity and loudness on the road. Your system should be sounding very good with the infinity's and the Cerwin Vega B2. definitely make sure the polarity is correct on your speakers. Did you happen to cut holes in the pods or are the speakers enclosed without any air?
I'm not positive the polarity is correct the reference speakers connect differently than these Kappas do. It's hard to check with the pods installed.. No holes cut in the pods. I guess I can pull the fairing off put the CV B2 back in and reverse the polarity after the amp and give it a listen.
Edit: BTW the Highs seem very crisp. with the lack of good bass almost too crisp! lol

Give Bill a call at biketronics. Very pleasant individual to talk to. He can tell you more about his experience with the pods on those bikes.
Almost sounds like just one side may be +/- wrong. To check, fade over completely left or right, if it sounds better, then one side in incorrectly connected.
I haven't been able to get the fairing off and mess around with it yet. Too busy at work. Hopefully Saturday morning. We went to a rally last weekend and kept the volume really low cause I was not happy with the sound! THAT'S JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE! I'm also going to see if maybe BT will sell just a pair of speaker mounts just not a fan of these pods.

Yes from what I hear from everyone else who has a 14 or 15 the pods are the showstopper and prevent you from getting good sound unless you remove them all together or cut holes in them.
I just spent over 3 hours in the garage working on this and I can say that there has been progress! I started by checking the polarity of the PBR300 to the Kappas and it was correct so that wasn't the issue. I turned the gain down on the amp to no avail. So I drilled 2 holes on the pods and low and behold the buzzing stopped. Got it to sound pretty good then I decided to put the Cerwin Vega B2 amp in. It sounds better! I am running it on the HP setting with just a bit of the low frequency omitted. IT REALLY CRANKS! If you cover the 2 holes I drilled in the pods the buzzing (distortion) during the bass will come back. There is a ton of air coming out of the holes! Definitely going to get a set of the BT mounts! I would still be tuning it but the wife said her and the neighbors have had enough. I have attached a photo of tonight's work. Thanks for all of the input!
I ended up cutting 3" holes and adding a little polyfill. I'm happy so far, but i could see going the bracket route in the future if and when i over haul things.
