Default New speakers

So I've settled on some speakers for my 2015 Ultra. Currently 6.5 Hertz DCX low profile in rear pods and 6.5 Memphis Audio MCLASS component in the fairing. So far I'm very pleased with the sound being much cleaner. No amp yet or flash. Took it out on the highway rolled on and could hear everything and was much smoother. Added a bit of dynamite to the pods as well.

Here's a short video for the sound. I don't think my phone captures it as well and excuse the mess in the garage let me know what you think

When you put an amp on those speakers it should sound pretty good! You just never know with the new bikes though. But I think it sounds pretty good in the garage. The true test will be out on the road. That's where you're going to need an amp.

Thanks Gannicus!
It actually sounds great on the highway so far. The video is at about half volume. When I took it out on the highway I only had it little past halfway and it sounded great. I could even hear the rear speakers now. Which really surprised me when I heard them I thought something was suddenly behind me riding my *** LOL.

I think you're right with the amp as well. When I do that I'll be able to fine tune the speakers more.

I have hoping to hear someone post a positive result without a amp. I hear a muddy sound on the stock setup at certain levels. what is the part number for the front speakers? Mike

They are Memphis Car Audio 15-MC6SA component speakers. They come with passive crossovers as well that are about the size of hockey pucks. The speakers will fit in the pods with a little trimming of one of the internal ribs. For the crossovers I drilled 3 small holes for the wires to pass through to the speaker and mounted them above the radio which should leave room for a 16SA450 amp in the future if I go that way

Did you have to use any spacers, or make any mods for the the hertz to fit in the rear speaker pods?

No the Hertz DCX fit right in with no mods needed or spacers and do benefit from being able to breathe into the trunk areaon 2014+ or truns that have added the trunk bass booster kit p/n 76000013 . Only the DCX low profile would fit though in the rear pods. The shallower model is DCX 170.3 which is only 2" deep for the whole assembly. The 165.3, ECX and HSX will not fit without spacers which would be fairly thick.
