Default 2104 up Biketronics install ?

Installed my Pro Biketronics Front speakers with BT2180 amp today.
Need to get flashed at dealer this week.
Currently breaking up at about 3 bars
Is this normal before I go to dealer for flash.

Thanks in advance

You can turn the gain down a LOT and that will stop. Right now you are feeding a powered signal into the amp which is messing it all up...turn the gains WAYYY down, and once you get it flashed you can normalize it...

yes,, as said above,, however mine sounded MUCH better than I expected before the flash,, now it's tons better, and I can't wait until the flash crap is figured out,, I'm waiting, because I have very decent sound now,, when I get better sound and my treble and bass back,, I'll love it more!

A answer from BT about my same questions :

Unlike the auto sound industry Harley puts a big juicy spike in the mid base region to get some mid base out of them. This spike is like 14db up from reference. So, when you turn our stuff up with WAY more power behind the speaker, it gets really distorted really fast. So, you are correct the flash is to correct this, flattening out the sound curve.

Our amp will make up for everything else, provided the input is nice and clean and flat. The SNI-35 may need to have the gain increased to make up for radio flash not only flattening out the sound curve but also, likely dropping the reference voltage down. This is a good thing because it gets you out of the distorted threshold that Harley would rather run the radio to get louder. Their less sensitive speakers and amps will not accurately portray this distortion. And, generally will not get as loud or sound nearly as good.

If you can handle not having the eq, then our setup should work great. Please keep us posted and thank you for your input.

So ... Am I to understand that the currently recommended flash renders the bass and treble adjustment in the factory head unit disabled?

Yes. it will still be there and move but no difference in sound, the EQ will be flat.

Unacceptable. Harley needs to get it together and figure out how to make the radios actually work with their native feature set under all circumstances. Further, someone needs to figure out how to flash these things WITHOUT the dealer ...

The problem with staying on Biketronics current recommended flash is the complete lack of bottom end. It's plenty loud, but has no kick at all. This is why having the EQ function work would be nice.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, using an iPod for music so that you can set the EQ on the iPod to boost the bass does improve bottom end a good bit, but it also quiets things down a bit. At this point, I think I'm going to give the Magic Box a try with the stock flash.

Agree with geektoad completely.Think the more you add the worse the problem is if just doing fairing speakers maybe ok if doing fairing and saddle bag not so good if like me fairing lowers and 6x9s in saddle bag problem is so bad don't know why anyone would spend this kind of money on 2014 stereo.

To those that have system and are happy with no fade and no bass, no treble
and just louder, you are the aftermarket guys dream customer. Then to think Harley is going to fix it is way out there , Harley wants us to buy hd not aftermarket. I would not tell anyone to spend money on 2014 innless they are willing to part with hd head unit no matter whos product they are looking at.

Rant over and just my 2cents, coming from guy who has tried everything, bottom line if want great stereo on 2014 start with head unit.
