adding lid speakers
If you do decide to not use an amp, be sure your 6x9 speakers impedance match those of the radio. I can't say with any certainty since I don't have a late model bike, but I think I've seen on here where it's 1 ohm and not the usual 2 or 4. Perhaps someone with more smarts than me will chime in. If you do go with an amp, then head unit impedance won't matter and most amps are 2 or 4 ohm stable.
Agree with above, need a amp to run 6X9s....I had the BT 4180 and 7.1 fairing, 6.5 in lowers and they rock.....Solid system, but always wonder what would 6x9s would bring?. Hmmm. Can any commit on that sound? The 4 I have sounds pretty damn good, but there's always better....always.....just like that new RGS I been drooling for a year now....Good luck.
Some amps are able to be bridged down to 1 ohm...IIRC Usually in subwoofer configurations...
Yep. The monoblock amps are often 1 ohm stable so u can run multiple subs in parrallel.
