If you do go with an amp, then head unit impedance won't matter and most amps are 2 or 4 ohm stable.
Of course you can put the 2 ohm HD Stage 1 speakers in the Rushmore bikes without an amp with the stock 4.3 or 6.5 Boom Infotainment head unit at 25 w per channel (2 channel). Can you run 2 ohm speakers with a 1 ohm amp? Never heard of a 1 ohm amp?

Agree with above, need a amp to run 6X9s....I had the BT 4180 and 7.1 fairing, 6.5 in lowers and they rock.....Solid system, but always wonder what would 6x9s would bring?. Hmmm. Can any commit on that sound? The 4 I have sounds pretty damn good, but there's always better....always.....just like that new RGS I been drooling for a year now....Good luck.

Some amps are able to be bridged down to 1 ohm...IIRC Usually in subwoofer configurations...
