WOW! Sorry to hear that man. I'm kinda in shock at the price. last set I ordered were no where near that price. I don't want to call the man out on here or hurt his business but I would not have paid that price either for speaker grills. Like everything else they began selling more grills and it appears he doubled the price. I had no Idea JM.
I don't want to call him out either, but people should know what they are getting for their money prior to receiving it especially when your showing the product as being one thing and receiving another.
Attached is my receipt and it clearly states in the lower right corner they are made from acrylic not metal.
I went back thru my emails with Benji and this is what he wrote me:
"Also attached is a closeup of the material I have... its not chrome, but a brushed silver material"
It makes me wonder if all of the other items he is selling (ignition covers, derby, timing covers, etc) are also acrylic??
One advantage I see for the 602 is that you can aim the tweeter.
The 6.2 when you mount the tweeter it is what it is.
I would get the 602s. Maybe this winter.
Finally got everything wrapped up and took a ride. I thought I had adjusted everything correctly and even though it sounded great and loud at 80% in the shop, it is not loud enough at 65 with a full face. It starts to distort at 85%. I turned the bass almost off and can get it to 90%.
When I get back from Daytona, I'll tear the fairing off again and get some help adjusting it. It sounds great cruising though, so there's that.
I just ordered and received a set of grills from Benji - was really disappointed to open the package and see they were made of a metal colored plexi-plastic, I was thinking they were going to be metal faces which is why I went with them - $100 was a lot of $$ to pay for plastic, that is what they look like, plastic....
I'ma leave this here:
Really comes off as someone I can see myself not doing business with. Thanks for the heads up.
That is pricey for showchrome, my HD burst collection were 139 (metal) bought used in yard sale and lowers cvo grills were 20 or so plastic. Big price to pay for upgrades. Good luck.
Really comes off as someone I can see myself not doing business with. Thanks for the heads up.
I just read his Facebook page - lovin his lies:
- He did not refund my money - disputing it with Paypal now
- Grills were $80 + $15 for fabric backing - $8 S/H (shipping was under $3.00) - not $70 as he stated
- One look on Ebay and you can find several CNC grills or around $100
- He told me he already had the pattern and logo on file, so not one-off product
I'm not telling anyone not to buy these, but in my opinion they are very cheep looking, especially the finish and more in line with a $25 dollar item
Oh yes! Very rich and full sounding speakers. Still in the process of trying different amps to get the best sound. I'll post a review once I find the right combo. One observation I have so far is these speakers need plenty power to shine.
