I have a Pioneer DEH-X8500BS stereo, SoundStream PN2.350D amp, and BT 7.1's. Every so often while I'm riding, the left speaker will shut off. If I cycle the stereo off and on it will work again. Then, shut off eventually. This only happens on the left hand speaker. I cant tell if it would be an amp issue or a stereo issue. Anyone have an idea how I could determine which it would be?
How long has this been happening. First check your connections, next how did you set your gains? See if the protect light is coming on when the speaker cuts out, you may just need to lower your gain or a connection has a short somewhere.
Swap your left and right connections and see if the problem moves
I think that's my next move. As soon as the weather clears up I'll give it a shot.
As far as the gains go...I had a tech from the place I bought the amp from. He talked me through it and verified what I already knew. I'm quite sure it's not going into protection cause both speakers would go silent. It's gotta be either the head unit or the amp on the left channel. Just trying to figure out which one.
