So I've been researching as of late for a new head unit as my HK gave up the ghost. I already bought the BT module/install kit because it was on sale, so no Aquatics AV, even though i considered it.
Sooo.. what head units are you guys running ? Heavily considering just a media unit as i won't really need CD's.
A lot of guys running Kenwood. You really can't go wrong with an upper end Sony or Kenwood. Both brands will have at least 4V preouts, Bluetooth, a couple of USB ports, aux port and Sirius/XM compatible. Will also have plenty of adjustability and option to turn off internal amp.
the 4v outs is one thing i considered. I'm running a PBR300x2 and MM651 combo right now.
I have heard anything less than 4v and you need to stick with the line level for that amp. I'm ok with that i guess but its still a variable. sound quality was never a complaint ran that way with the HK unit so...

I'm currently using a Alpine CDE137BT for 2years now, no issues at all. Like you say only using media music....usb, IPod, IPhone, Pandora, etc.....Research and narrow your search for what you like. Good luck.

not true at all.
i too considered a media headunit but couldn't find one with all the features i wanted so instead i went with a pioneer deh-9600bhs. all the normal bells and whistles and 2 usb ports - one for my 64g stick and one for my phone.
