Thanks guys. This forum is addicting. there seems to be no end. What should the gain bet set to for the Kappas?

same same. 12:00 o'clock, With that amp between 11:00 and 1:00 is pretty much safe for decent speakers depending in the HU. BOOM and Hogtunes is another story. . .lol

I'm running the 1000d with stock HU and kappas.
When I set my gains via dmm at 13 bars on volume at 21 vac I was around 10 o'clock.
That amp will push those kappas to the point of self distruction if you are not careful.Just ask me how I know lol.
But all in all they sound very good with that amp. Enjoy the new power

Although y'all both have stock HU's yours is an entirely different animal. However, I do think that gain level is just a tad high...especially if your using high level inputs on the amp. JMO

Ok guys, got pn4.1000D installed. Setting gain with DMM. V AC 2.36 kappas and 23.66 BT7.1's. About 10 o'clock position on dial. This sound right?

10 o'clock seems kinda low. In contrast a Kenwood at 35 clicks is at about 12 oclock, a Sony with 50 clicks is about 1 o'clock.

I believe he's using the stock HU and high level inputs.
Maybe he'll chime back in.
