I have an 05 EG with HK HU and an RZ42000D. I initially had 6.5 infinity kappas in the fairing but couldn't resist the sale that Biktronics had on the BT7P1s a while back. Currently have the BT7P1s in the fairing and would like to put the infinitys in the lowers running off the rear channels of the amp. Anybody have any thoughts on how this might work out. I know that the BTs are 4 ohm and the infinitys are 2 ohm so gain settings will be different. Does the RZ42000 put out enough power for the BTS?
Your amp puts out around 90 watts @ 4ohms. It'll sound ok but you won't realize the full potential. My suggestion would be to upgrade to the SS pn4.1000D if it's within your budget. Noticeable difference in your setup after that. Those Kappas will sound totally different with more power.
Bates is correct on the RZ4 being 90 watts @ 4 ohms and he is also correct on the SS 1000D being a better amp. That said. You would not think with those specs it would drive the BT's. but the RZ4 is the exception! It will drive the hell out of those speakers!! We've never figured out why that little amp is so powerful given the specs and I can't explain it. All I know is you'll be more than happy with that set up!

Good call Gannicus I hadn't heard that about the RZ4. Just going on specs alone I would've figured it would be lacking plus no headroom.
Even with that knowledge of the RZ4 I would still lean towards the pn4.1000D. I have the 4.520 which is the same amp as the RZ4 and I know what the Kappas sound like on that amp. I also know what they sound like when you have more power to throw at them too. I think the 4.1000D would be a better amp for the BT's and Kappas as well to see their full potential.
