What's the best next step?
Or
6x9 's in the bag lids and don't buy the lowers to accommodate the 6.5 Motos?
In other words the best sound would be to hit you from 4 speakers in front of you than 2 speakers behind you.
Thoughts?
I would (and did) go with BT 7.1's in the fairing and BT 6.5 in the lowers. LOUD and CLEAR!
You didn't mention an amp, but you will definitely need one.
I have Kappas in my rear pods, and at speed they are not really heard.
You can't beat the Biketronics speakers!
I ran the PRO's in the fairing and the Moto's in the lowers all summer long pushing them both with the SS PN4.1000D That set up is insane! Now in the interest of full disclosure I had the BT 6x9's in the lids and the BT71 kit in the rear pods but my front stage was awesome! Biketronics has great speakers! You just need power to push em! One thing I did notice with the pros G. At high volume and I mean ear bleeding volume I would get slight distortion and no matter how low I turned the gains down I still got it at high volume. I worked on getting out it from sun up to sundown one day and I never could get rid of it. That's one reason I set them on my shelf and stuck a set of Moto's in the fairing. NO distortion with those bad boys.

I believe the general consensus is Fairing/Lower combo is "more effective" than Lids/Fairing combo. I cannot confirm as i run Lids
I like the "surround sound" effect with the Lids but that's me. for 2 up i think you are better off with lids (my wife told me "WOW, that's LOUD" when she was on the bike with me after I installed the lids). now she requested Lady BaBa but that ain't playing on my bike

4180, no.
Even better. Keep the 2180, get the PN4.1000d and add the lowers AND the lids!!
If you keep the 2180, then get yourself the Titan II's for the lowers. In parallel you want to run the same speakers or at a minimum ones that have the same sensitivity so they increase the same volume.

Today I had $400 in Harley gift cards burning a hole in my wallet. I went to the dealer and ordered Lowers for $439.00 unpainted.....I then added to have them painted to match the bike. I then ordered Speaker Baskets to go into the lowers.....when they were all said and done, tax etc I was at $660 out the door.......Yow-OUCH!
I hope the MOTOS 6.5 fit in the lowers in those baskets. We shall see.......
I think the only thing left to buy is the SS PN4.1000D.....OH MY.
