Hey I'm gonna upgrade my audio but would like to know on 13' and below cvo ultras does amp power all 4 speakers or just front??? Thanks
This is a question we usually ask! This forum mainly focus on aftermarket audio systems. You might want to check with HD or maybe a CVO forum to find out exactly what you have. Unfortunately most of the Boom stuff will have to go to get quality sounding system. When your ready to upgrade we will be glad to help.
For 2013 and below CVO Ultras, the Harley factory amplifier under the rear tail trunk, powers BOTH the front fairing & rear trunk pod speakers.
The amplifier is given the audio signal from the front channels ONLY of the Harley HK radio, and the amplifier becomes the front/rear fading component in this factory CVO ULTRA configuration, which is unique to 2006-2013 CVO Ultras only.
Are you thinking about adding additional speakers and/or amplifiers to your existing system?

Thanks. I have some equipment already just don't want to piggyback amps. Not a good thing.
I have a 2008 CVO Ultra. I installed a second amp under my fairing to drive a new set of fairing speakers, and am using the stock boom amp under the tour pak to drive my rear pod speakers. Had to splice into the harness for the install; can't remember the details now but allows normal audio control and front/rear fade from the stock HK head unit. I did go through several iterations of speakers/amps to get the sound I want so if you know what your end-game is going to be you can save time/money by choosing the right components up front.
