Just reading my retro radio instructions in preperation for install. My box has a m on it (i did order mute) but no where does it say how to mute it. anyone know how?
Thanks *****
I just installed mine about a month ago...I push in on the volume up and down button on the left hand side...That mutes my Kenwood deck.. The odd thing with mine is that the AVC seems to be working even though Bill said it wouldn't....have to find a way to disable that damn thing!....lol

Biketronics website has a video on how to disable/adjust avc.
I was thinking the metra units had mute (but no AVC) and the BT units had AVC (but no mute). I used the BT instructions to turn my AVC off, but I didn't think they have a mute function on their retro radio kits unless it was added in the last 8-9 months....
i got this kit BT1005X - 1998-2013 Multi-Brand Radio Install Kit. you can choose avc or mute. when i got the box it had a m on it. What does your left thumb control do when you push it in ?
Mine has AVC, so pushing in on left thumb does nothing (hold to go into AVC programming mode). Bikerdad said that is the mute on his.
Call BT, they will take care of it for you. Maybe you got an AVC unit mistakenly in a mute package?? Wish I had known they had both, would have went with mute for sure, AVC is worthless to me.
mine mutes the sound so i got the right one. what threw me off was att on or att off coming up on the screen instead of the word mute.
Att on mutes the sound. att off is regular volumn.
