new head unit
Right now I am running a Kenwood head unit with the Biketronics amp and speakers on my 2010 ultra. It sounds great, but the display is almost impossible to see, especially if the sun is just right. Any thoughts on a new head unit where I won't have this problem? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
That's the only real drawback of aftermarket HUs, no matter how you have it set up, there will be some sun/angle combinations that you just won't be able to see the screen in.
I believe the SONY MEX 70BT has a white screen and have heard other road glide guys say it works better than a colored screen for them.
I have a kenwood on my RG and playing with the posi/nega display settings seemed to help the most. Not sure exactly what model you have, but I believe mine is on POSI-1 and it seems to be the most consistent for me.
I guess there's actually an advantage to living in upstate NY - it's where clouds come to die so we don't worry too much about direct sunlight......

does your have any settings to change for that setting, if so that may help.
Yep this is it. You need a radio that has positive/negative contrast selection to have any chance of seeing it in the sun.
