Last year was having a problem with the hog tunes setup that I currently have with the right speaker cutting out. Would have to turn up the volume to get the speaker to come back on. At first I thought it was an issue with the head unit and swapped that out with the Aquatic AV head unit, mostly because I wanted Bluetooth for the iPod. Well head unit was not the problem, decided to go with Biketronics BT2180 amp and their 7.1 speakers. Speakers are not the pro series but should be better than the 5 1/2 hog tunes I believe. Anybody running this setup and can compare between the hog tunes and the biketronics?

The BT amp and speakers are going to blow the HT stuff away!!!
I don't know squat about the aquatic head units, but they can't be any worse than stock unit. As far as the BT amp/speakers, words don't describe how bad they are going to blow away the hog tunes stuff. Night and day difference sir, you will be a happy camper with that set up.
I have the Aquatic AV head unit, BT 4180 amp, BT 7.1 speakers in front fairing and BT Titan II 6.5 speakers in lowers. Cannot compare to Hog Tunes, but this combination comes through loud & clear. Although I am sure there are better sounding setups for those who want the ability to fine tune things, this is a relatively easy (but not cheap) upgrade that will more than satisfy most folks. Aquatic and BT is a strong combination IMHO.
Question about your Aquatic AV unit. When you push the "mode" button on your right handlebar control what does it do? On mine, it only allows me to scroll through the various modes i.e. radio, USB, bluetooth, etc. but it will not actually change from one mode to another. To change modes I have to then push the large control **** on the head unit itself. Seems like the right handlebar control should allow me to change the mode.
Biketronics system is sitting at the UPS terminal to be delivered tomorrow. So I removed the hog tunes speakers and amp and noticed that the rca outputs from the aquatic head unit are only 2volts. Will the low voltage affect the sound quality and or loudness of the biketronics amp and 7.1 speakers.
I used RCA outputs & everything comes through loud & clear. No problems at all & plenty loud enough for me. I did not try it with the high level (speaker wire) outputs so I have no basis for comparison.
